M.C.C. IN QUEENSLAND COUNTRY SIDE HITS OUT SECOND INNINGS FORM (10 a.m.) GYMPIE. Dec. 10. The match between M.C.C. and a combined Queensland country team ended in a draw, from which all competitive element departed in the middle of the afternoon yesterday. M.C.C. led by 74 on the first innings, whfch deficit the country side wiped off in an hour’s batting. Lack of time for either side to force a win caused the match to develop into a mere exhibition game. In the last half-hour Yardley used Hardstaff and Gibb as bowlers, with the batsmen smiting at everything. Country scored 200 in 143 minutes, 250 in 169 minutes, and 300 in 179 minutes. Gartrell, chosen as a bowler, hit 52 in 23 minutes, including four sixers. M.C.C. First Innings >.
