AZERBAIJAN CLAIM
OUTBURST BY PREMIER
TEHERAN TROOP MOVES (10 a.m.) TEHERAN. Dec. 10. The great day of Persia’s revolution has come,’ said Dr. Pishevar, broadcasting over the Tabriz radio. ‘‘We are Persians. Azerbaijan is part of Persia. We don’t want separation.” The Prime Minister of Persia, M. Sultaneh, broadcasting last night appealed to peasants and workers in Azerbaijan “to liquidate the gangster regime.” He added that the Azerbaijan forces had attacked the central Government troops as the latter were advancing in Khamseh province bevond the Azerbaijan border. Action of that kind deserved punishment. . Persian troops after one day’s fighting against Azerbaijan democrat forces have occupied Rajin. an important railway station which is a strategic point on the frontier outside Azerbaijan, says the Daily Telegraph’s correspondent in Teheran. Many democrats were killedor wounded. The Persian Army headquarters has broadcast to all former officers of the Imperial army serving with the Azerbaijan militia ordering them to report to the nearest military post outside Azerbaijan or headquarters in Teheran, says Reuter’s correspondent. The Azerbaijan leader, M. Pishevari, were moving on Teheran over which they w'ould fly the banner of freedom. He added that Government forces were receiving help from abroad. Reuter’s correspondent says Government planes dropped leaflets on Tabriz and Mianeh appealing to “patriotic Azerbaijans" to turn against the rebels. Two Tudeh (Left-wing) newspapers in Teheran have been suppressed.
