MURDER CONFESSED
DYING SYDNEY CONVICT LONG POLICE HUNT ENDS SYDNEY. Dec. 9. The murder of a moneylender. Mr. Daniel Condon, in His Pitt street office 19 years ago has been cleared up ey the confession of a convict who has died in gaol, according to a disclosure made bv the police. Mr. Condon did an extensive business with civil servants and during the lunch hour on August 11. 1927. a client called to repay a loan. A few minutes after lie walked out another client walked in and found Mr. Condon dead, having been savagely battered about the head. , . The police were handicapped by a million to one chance —the client who passed the murderer was blind in one eye and the murderer brushed past on his blind side so he secured only a confused picture of him. The dying prisoner confessed his guilt to another prisoner, who passed the news on to the authorities and mvestigations sealed the matter.
