GISBORNE SPORTS NOVEL CYCLE TESTS THROWING THE DISCUS A field of 12 runners provided a spectacular race over two miles at the weekly floodlight sports meeting of the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club last evening when another attractive programme was presented before a fait* attendance on the Childers Road Reserve. Other popular contests included a further series of relay races, and among events listed for the first occasion of the season were a cycle dash over 100yds. by a group of riders, the leader of whom broke 10 seconds, a sevenlap "miss-and-out” cycle test and a trial of prowess in throwing the discus.
