FOUR FLIGHTS A WEEK (9.15 am.) WASHINGTON. Dec. 4. New Zealand, Australia and the United States signed the air agreement, at a chatty function at the Secretary of State’s Office. The Assistant Sec-’,, retary of State, Mr. Dean Acheson, signed on behalf of the United States, Sir Carl Berendsen on behalf of Ne\y: Zealand, and Mr. N. J. Makin on behalf of Australia. The present plans provide for four flights to and from the United States and Canada every fortnight. Three would originate in Australia and one in New Zealand.

' It is hoped that operations will begin early in January. The New Zealand service will branch off at Fiji to Auckland. Air equipment is ready. Skymasters will be used, carrying about 40 passengers from Sah Francisco or Los Angeles via Honolulu, Canton, Suva and Noumea.
