BRITISH PARTY LEADERS GREEK LEFTISTS’ RALLY LONDON, March 24. Cries' of “shame” greeted his mention of the name of Mr. Ernest Bevin by M Sofianopoulos. in an address to 40,000 Left Wing supporters at the Piraeus, says Reuter’s correspondent in Athens. M Sofianopoulos blamed Mr. Bevin for the “electoral farce.” The meeting, which was attended by all leaders of Left Wing parties, roared hostilely when reference to Mr. Churchill was made. The Greek Populist (Royalist) leader, M Tsaldaris, in an election address at Corinth, declared that the party, if it secured a majority in the new Assembly. intended to demand an immediate plebiscite on the question of the return of King George. Th- party aimed at making Greece a bridge between Russia and the Western Allies.
