Sir, —Bravo, Hextonian! Your letter, short but to the point, should be an inspiration to us all to do something that is really fine and generous. Yes, let Gisborne give a lead and set an example that will be as a shining light to the rest of New Zealand—city, town or country. I do not know if Hextonian has in mind the collecting of coupons or food, but in case it is coupons I shall leave one week’s meat coupons to give a start. Now which family will follow suit? After I return home I shall watch your progress and believe you will truly earn for your town the name of Gisborne the Golden, so go ahead, Gisborne. “MERELY A VISITOR.’'
