METEOR DELAYED
SHOCK ABSORBER DEFECT RESUMING TOUR IN WEEK (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 26. The Gloster Meteor jet, aircraft, which was to have commenced its New Zealand tour last Thursday, has been delayed for approximately one week pending the examination of a shock absorber.
While the work involved is little more than routine maintenance, the shortage of spare parts at present is apt to cause a slightly longer delay. It is hoped, however, that the aircraft will be able to continue its tour towards the end of this week. All districts in New Zealand can be sure of obtaining adequate warning of the arrival of the aircraft, says an official statement.
