DIFFICULT CONDITIONS
SHOOT AT TOKOMARU BAY A shoot was held at Tokomaru Bay last week-end, when conditions were difficult, with a gusty wind blowing. There was a small muster. Scores : Match No. 1, 6-Bird Handicap.—H. F. Smyth, 16yds., broke five and took first money. H. E. Knight, 15yds., four, took second, and F. Town, R. Churches, Car! Oates and W. Oates tied for third with three. Match No. 2. 6 birds.—H. E. Knight took first money with five breaks: Carl Oates and R. Templar divided second and third money with four.
Match No. 3, 6 birds.—H. F. Smyth and Carl Oates divided first and second money with five breaks each. W. Oates was third with three.
Match No. i. 6 birds.—A. R. Churches. H. F. Smyth and Car] Oates, ail with five breaks, divided the stakes. Match No. 5. 10 birds. —H. F. Smyth and Car! Oates divided first and second money with eight breaks each: Knight, Churches and W. Oates, six each, third. Match No. 6, 6 birds.—Car] Oates broke five for first money; Knight, Churches, Smyth and W. Oates, all three. The next, shoot at Tatapouri will probably be cm April 11 when two £25 handicaps may be the principal items.
