SIAMESE RELEASED
WAR CRIMES CHARGES (11.30 a.m.) BANGKOK, March 24. On tlie order of the Bangkok High Court, Marshal Pibul Songgram. who was Prime Minister of Siam during tlie Japanese occupation and who declared war against the Allies in 1942, was released to-day from “house arrest” under which he was placed last October while -war crime charges were being prepared. The court ordered the release of all prisoners held on war crimes charges on the ground that tlie War Crimes Act cotild not be applied retrospectively.
