REVOLT PLOTTED
SLOVAKS ARRESTED PRO-NAZI SUPPORTERS FOREIGN INSTIGATION (9 a.m.) PRAGUE. March 24. The Czechoslovak Minister of the Interior officially announced that 100 persons have been arrested in Slovakia on charges of espionage and agitation against the Czechoslovak alliance with Russia and preparation for an armed rising in Slovakia. The Minister added that the intended uprising was instigated and controlled from abroad. Those allegedly mainly responsible were ex-members and adherents of the pro-Nazi puppet administration in Slovakia, some of whom were still in the country and others abroad in Austria and Germany, and particularly in Rome. They were in contact with “international reaction,” including General Anders' Polish army. Among those arrested was Professor Polakovic, a Jesuit priest of Croat origin who allegedly was the leader of the plotters.
