WIN FOR GORDON
DAVIS’ JAW BROKEN SYDNEY STADIUM BOUT (10 n.m.) SYDNEY, March 24. A right-hand punch by Clarrie Gordon broko Art Davis’ jaw in tho fourth round of n fight at tho Sydney Stadium. Gordon fought fiercely and intelligently to win every round and Davis was almost always on the defensive. Earlv in the first round Gordon scored with left jabs and rights to tho body nnd continued to forco tho pace. Davis fought hack as best he could and did somo damage with left hooks.
Midway through tho fourth round Davis faltered from a heavy right to the jaw' and Gordon rushed in swinging with both hands. Davis went down nnd was trying to get up at tho count.
