BAND CONTEST
QUICK STEP RESULTS WIN FOR ST. KILDA (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 25. The New Zealand Victory band contest concluded on Saturday with a quick step competition at Lancaster Park. The weather was perfect and it is estimated that more than 20,000 people attended to watch the colourful spectacle provided by the ceremonial marching of bands. Results:— A Grade.—St. Kilda Municipal, 2701 points, 1; Wellington Waterside Silver, 2GO) points. 2; Woolston Brass, 2553 points, 3. B Grade.—Auckland Waterside Silver, 250) points, 1; Hawera Municipal, 257 points, 2; Wellington Boys’ Institute, 217 points, 3. C Grade.—Rangiora Brass. 222 points, 1; Auckland Waterside Silver Junior, 215 points, 2; Lyttelton Marine. 2141 points, 3.
