GISBORNE DEFENCE CLUB HANDICAP COMPETITION The second handicap scries of the Gisborne Defence Club’s programme was advanced a further stage on the Sponge Bay range over the week-end, in shots being fired at the 200 and 300yds. distances. Some good scores were recorded. At the opening range, V. J. Jeuue returned the best total of 43 out of a possible 50. He was closely followed by 11. Burson, \V. J. Burton, R. Bull and G. Judge, all with scores of -17.
The scores at the 300yds. range were generally good, 48’s being registered by R. Bull, W. J. Burton and F. .Tonne, the. latter securing the best aggregate tor the two ranges of Of, to win the match. R. O. Bull with a similar total score was runner-up, and third place went to G. Jeuue. a junior member, who also reached file club standard score of 06. . Keen competition is expected in the annual teams’ match for the Holden Cup. which will take place next week-end. A full attendance is requested.
