TRIBUTES TO AIRMAN
A memorial service for the late Flight Sergeant Cecil Algol Thomas, third son of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Thomas, Palmerston North, who, was well known in the Gisborne district, was hold in' St. Peter's Church Palmerston North, on Wednesday. The preacher was the Rev. De Candole. chaplain of the New Zealand military forces. , A beautiful red. white and blue wreath, with a bow of air force blue ribbon, was laid at .the foot of the altar by Miss Margaret Thomas, a niece of the deceased airman. During the day his parents received a message of sympathy from the King and Queen. Flight Sergeant Thomas lost his life during air operations over Norway on the night of March 20, 19-15.
