WAIROA NEWS
Nurse Pfefferle, of the staff of the Wairoa Hospital, has been successful in passing her final State examination. Mr. A. McKinnon has been elected president of the Federated Farmers, Wairoa, and Messrs. A. T. Carroll, who declined nomination for the chief executive position, and E. Eriksen, are the new vice-presidents. During the absence of Sister Kimbell, who is taking a post-graduate course at Wellington, Sister J. Munro is acting as tutor sister. Lieut.-Colonel T. Hennre, of the Maori Battalion, has been visiting Wairoa, where he received an official welcome on Thursday evening by returned men who served under him overseas.
