CANADIAN OPINION
MR CHURCHILL’S PROPOSAL INTEGRATION OF DEFENCES (10 am.) OTTAWA, March 6. Mr Churchill’s speech is interpreted by officials of the Defence and External Affairs Departments as calling for an extension of the joint United StatesCanadian Permanent Defence Board to Britain and the rest of the Empire, says the Canadian press. It is pointed out that steps have already been taken to integrate the work of the Canadian armed services with those of Britain and the United States by .training the Canadian fleet to co-operate either with the British or United States navies and by exchanging observers and officers at various military colleges.
