TRENT’S NAVIGATOR
SPECIAL D.S.O. AWARDED AMSTERDAM BOMBING (Special Correspondent,/ (11 a.m.) LONDON, March 6. A special D.S.O. has been awarded to Flight-lieutenant V. Phillips, who was tlie English navigator in Squadron Leader Trent’s crew and was taken prisoner with him. Tlie citation endorses that Squadron Leader Trent, assisted by Flight Lieutenant Phillips, flew the only aircraft to locale and bomb the Amsterdam power station. It says lhat Flight Lieutenant Phillips "displayed outstanding coolness, courage and devotion to duty.”
