CAREERS OUTLINED Mr. Hallyburton Johnstone is a member of a well-known family in the Raglan electorate. He has been actively associated with many local and public organisations, notably as president of the Waikato sub-provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union and latterly as provisional president of the newly-formed Waikato province of Federated Farmers. He is chairman of the Raglan County Council. Mr. A. C. Baxter, who was born at Egmont village 34 years ago, served for five years in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. He gained the D.F.C. as an observer in 1942, and a bar to this award as a pilot two years later. He completed several tours of duty over the Continent and returned to New Zealand with the rank of flightlieutenant. After completing his education at the New Plymouth Boys’ High School and the Feilding Agricultural College, Mr. Baxter worked for two years as clerk with seed and fertiliser merchants in Feilding and Hawera. He was later prominent in a movement to raise the living standard of rural employees.
