BRITAIN’S COAL SUPPLY
SHORTAGE EASED (11 a.m.) LONDON, March 4. Fuel difficulties in Britain are not as great as a few weeks ago, said the Minister of Fuel. Mr. E. Shinwell. There is then the grim expectation that factory production might have to close down on a large scale because of lack of fuel, but fortunately many difficulties had been overcome. “At the same time wc cannot relax our efforts for a single moment if we are to come through the_ winter. If we fail to produce on the highest scale we are going to be short.”
