BIG STOCK MOVEMENTS
Heavy traffic on the railways in the Gisborne district continues. The latest weekly figures available cover the seven clays up to and including last Sunday. In that period 750 tons of meat, 29,000 sheep and 500 cattle were moved on the Gisbovne-Motuhora and the Gisborne-Napier lines. This represented a total of 7525 tons.
In addition, from 12 to 14 wagons, or 120 to 130 tons, of general merchandise were handled each day.
