TRANSFER APPROVED
LEAGUE ASSETS TO UNO (9 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 13. The United Nations’ General Assembly approved of a report of the League of Nations’ committee transferring the League's assets to UNO. UNO will take over the League’s health section and epidemological service besides the opium section. A committee was established to negotiate further agreements relating to the Peace Palace at The Hague which is required for the International Court of Justice.
The Assembly then considered the question of the participation of women in .the United Nations’ conference. France has submitted in the General Committee a request for inclusion on the agenda of a proposal to this effect. The United States' representative, Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt said: “We call on Governments everywhere to encourage women to participate in national and international affairs.” Th ecoinmiltee, however, decided it would be inadvisable that the General Assembly should undertake to make any definite recommendation to delegations regarding their composition.
