DANGER OF REVOLT

INDIAN MOSLEMS BRITISH PLAN OPPOSED DEMANDS FOR PAKISTAN (10 a.md LONDON, Feb. 13. A Moslem revolt it the British carried out their announced intention of calling a single constitution-making body for a free, unified India was predicted by the president of the Moslem League, Mr. Jinnnh, in an interview with the New York Times’ correspondent in New Delhi.

Mr. Jinnnh declared that the Moslems were willing 'to fight if the British tailed to provide for Pakistan which would constitute a sovereign Moslem State, covering the six northern Indian provinces from Baluchistan to Assam. The correspondent says that the demand goes further than anything previously asked by the Moslem League, since tire provinces mentioned constitute the most highly developed and most populous part of India, with major agricultural production, heavy industry and the greatest port. Mr. Jinnah added: “It is up to the British to make the right move. If they don’t, God help us. The only course open is for the British to concede Pakistan. Then we can proceed to the demarcation of boundaries between Pakistan and Hindustan, and the two Indian nations can establish their own constitutional assemblies and make their own treaties.” Mr. Gandhi stated that he had advised the Viceroy, Lord Wavell, to form a new national Government of India of elected members of the Central Legislative Assembly, irrespective of party, to meet the food and clothing crisis, says the Associated Press’ correspondent in Bombay. The suggestion was made in response to Lord Wavell’s appeal to Mr. Gandhi for co-operation. Mr. Gandhi said: “If the mercantile community and the Administration become honest, we Indians can just tide over the difficulties even if no help comes from the outside world, which is itself groaning.” Dr. Azad, the Congress leader, is going from Calcutta to New Delhi to discuss the food situation with Lord Wavell.
