CONFERENCE THIS MONTH NEW NATIONAL BODY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 14. The New Zealand Farmers’ Union and tiie New Zealand Sheepowners' Federation are expected to complete their active existence within two mort 1 ' It may be some years before their affairs are completely wound up, but to all intents and purposes their long service to the farming community will be concluded. Representative of farmers’ organisations of all types will be the new organisation, the Federated Farmers ot New Zealand The first national conference of the Federated Farmers will be held on February 23, following conferences on the previous day of various produce sections, namely meat and wool, dairy ■ niuee, agricultural and grain growers, anti commercial gardeners. The combined conference of these sections on February 28 will elect the Dominion president, two Dominion vice-presidents, and Dominion treasurer. who. with officers of the various sections clQcled on the previous day, will form the Dominion council.
Mr. B. V. Cookslev, who is provisional president of the Federated Farmers, and Mr W. W. Mulholland, Dominion president of the Farmers' union, will represent New Zealand producers at the international conference of primary producers opening in ..idon on May 21. They and the other New Zealand delegates will leave out the middle of March.
