Gas restrictions continue in Auckland and the Auckland Gas Company is very concerned regarding the future position. However, enough coal for nine days’ supply is expected from the West Coast on Friday. The company has never had any opportunity to - build up reserve stocks. —P.A. Stock Watering At Kaiti The fact that country residents had made a practice of using borough supply water from a tap at Huxley and Tyndall roads for stock-watering purposes and that in view of the water shortage, the borough council had been obliged to move the tap on to private property, was notified to the Cook County Council to-day in a letter from the borough council. Members of the county council expressed regret that the step had proved necessary, but agreed that since the borough supply was for domestic consumption only it was not reasonable to object to the borough council’s action.
