Metalling Extension
Advice that authority had been granted for an additional subsidy of £SOO at £5 for £l, for the extension of metalling on the I-langaroa-Waikare-moana road, was received by the Cook County Council at its monthly meeting to-day. The advice came from the resident engineer, Works Department. Mr E. W. McEnnis, who pointed out that the grant would give the council the opportunity to carry the all-weather road to Mr H. L. Harker’s property. The council directed that proposals for the work be placed before the Works Department, as a necessary preliminary to the issue of the financial authority. The council expressed satisfaction with the grant. Mr liarker forwarded an undertaking to provide a further £SO towards the cost of the work.
