Sole Applicant Succeeds
Only one application was received by tlie Lands Department for an area of 1066 acres in the Wairoa district recently advertised for selection, the applicant being examined and accepted by the board and entering into possession immediately. The land has a capital valuation of £750, and is weighted with £2200 for improvements, including a three-roomed house, garage, fencing, and wool-shed. It is a grazing proposition, situated about 19 miles from Wairoa on the Ruapapa road, and has access .to the main highway by cable and cage across the Waiau River. The successful sole applicant was Mr.r C. B. Lane. (.
