OVERTIME REFUSED
MERSEYSIDE DOCKERS SEQUEL TO DISMISSALS LONDON, Feb. 11. No overtime will be worked by the Merseyside dockers from to-day. About 16,000 men are affected by the decision, which, it is feared, may be followed in other ports. It is stated that with the continued dismissals of dockers on Merseyside while overtime is continued, the men thought there was a tendency to return to the old days of social insecurity and casual employment. It is understood the decision means that Sunday work will be included in the ban.
