VERDICT OF DROWNING
(P A.) WELLINGTON, Jam 29. Tlie inquest on Cecil George Cole, aged 28, and his daughter, Margaret, aged five, who were drowned when a boat capsized off Petone on January 12, was held to-day before Mr. W. G. Mellish, who returned a verdict of drowning. He issued a warning against people going out in small boats without being conversant with how to handle them. In this case Cole had lost an oar, and in trying to recover it stood up and the boat overturned. Mr. Mellish referred to another fatal case when an Bft. dinghy was taken out to sea in weather when the owners of larger boats hesitated to put out, /
