EMPIRE CO-OPERATION EXCHANGE PROPOSED DATA AND TECHNICIANS CANBERRA, . Jan. 29. A tentative agreement on proposals (for Empire co-operation in information on matters of research, design and the development of munitions and the interchange of personnel has been reached between the Prime Minister, Mr. J. B. Chifley, and the British Ministry of Supply mission. The mission is to return to England shortly and report to the British Government on the progress made. Should the plan be adopted, proj vision will be made for Australia to ‘be kept advised of all progress in the development of all. types of weapons i and munitions, including adomic ! energy. Frequent exchanges of key munitions production and service perj sonnel will be made and closer contact established between the defence organisations of Empire countries. “It must not be inferred that we are getting ready for another war,” said Mr. Harrison, a member for the British mission. “We are simply being prepared. The problems solved help us in peacetime,"
