EXTENSION PLAN SCHEME FIVE-MAJOR POINTS (11 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan. 29. A five-point programme to broaden the national social security plan has been recommended by the Federal Security Agency in its annual report. The points arc:— (1) Insurance against medical costs. (2) The establishment of a single Federal unemployment insurance agency instead of the present State and Federal organisations. (3) A maximum weekly unemployment payment of 25 dollars for 26 weeks. (4) An extension of the old-age and survivors’ insurance programme to include all gainful workers. (5) Permanent and temporary disability payments.
