TREK FROM DARWIN
USED ARMY VEHICLES 1100 OFFERED FOR SALE LONG JOURNEY SOUTH (10 a.in.) DARWIN, Jan. 30. A new overland trek is indicated following the Northern Territory's biggest disposal sale of used army vehicles. More than 200 were sold in the first day and buyers from all States are bidding for a total of 1100 vehicles. Ex-serviccmen from as far afield as Melbourne and Adelaide were given th.e choice before the big buyers took over. As there is no chance of shipping any vehicles from Darwin, ail must go overland. The buyers have been given six weeks to remove the vehicles, ranging from wrecks to erratic goers. Sufficient petrol has been promised by the Army.
