HOLIDAY CRICKET 10-POINT WIN FOR C.S. Play was completed on Monday in the three club cricket fixtures commenced on Saturday on the Gisborne Oval. Civil Service, with three wickets to spare, gained a 10-point win over Nomads, R.S.A. succeeded in securing a 6-point win over Colts, and so did Marist over G.H.5.0.8. Following the completion of both teams* first innings on Saturday, in which Nomads made 111 and Civil Service 170 runs, Nomads went to the wickets again on Monday and made 179 runs in their second innings. Civil Service replied with 125 for seven wickets at stumps and gained an outright win. The principal scorers in Nomads first innings were Bridge 45 and G. Livingston 19, and in their second innings Fraser, 60, P. Dwyer, 36 not out, and Denniston and Field, 20. For Civil Service McMillan, 46, Brittenden, 39, and Carroll, 30, were top-scorers in the first innings and Brittenden. 72, and Moscript, 20, were the best in the second innings. In the R.S.A. v. Colts game R.S.A. completed their first innings on Monday with a total of 200 runs, compared with Colts' 147 in their first innings. In their second innings Colts were nine wickets down for 24S at stumps and so gave R.S.A. a first-innings win. Colts’ batting in the second innings was very steady. In their first innings R. Torrie, with 75, was top-scorer and in their second Fyson, 77, and Torrie. 55, were the principal scorers. R. McTnness, 53, was R.S.A. top-scorer.

In reply to Marist’s first innings knock of 157. H. 5.0.8. completed their first innings on Monday with 125 runs. Marist were four wickets down for 150 at stumps and gained a first innings win.

The principal Marist scorers were M. Sharp, 67, J. Gillespie, 15. and R. .Conole. 14, in the first innings, and > in the second Sharp, 53, Conole, 41, and Blane, 22, were the best.
