Theft at Hospital
Charged with the theft of a woman’s twin set, Joyce Whitehead, aged 19, a housemaid at the Cook Hospital, was committed to probation for six months by Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Gisborne Magistrate's Court to-day. The accused pleaded not guilty. Evidence was given by Patricia Clark, who stated that her twin set had been taken from her locker and she had later seen the accused wearing it, and Detective T. Sneddon, who read an explanation by the accused in which she admitted taking the articles.
