SHOT BY ARMED BAND THE UNREST IN GREECE ATHENS, Jan. 17. An armed band, allegedly E.A.M. members, stopped a bus near Sparta and seized and shot the chief of the local monarchist organisation, his six-year-old son, and two other Royalists. More Greek Government officials have joined the strike of State employees. says the Associated Press correspondent. The Athens departments affected include the Telegraph Office and some of the courts. The telegraphic communications abroad are being maintained.
There has been another big fall in the quotations for gold sovereigns, which are now worth 120,000 drachmas.
