Fire Destroys Launch
The pleasure launch Aloma, owned by Mr. Harold Grace, of Whakatanc, was destroyed by lire at its moorings at the old Whakatane wharf. Although the call received prompt attention, the launch was in flames from, stem to stern upon the arrival of the Whakutanc Volunteer Fire Brigade. There was no insurance cover.
