BRITISH AND INDIANS DISTINCTIVE BADGE (9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 16. It is officially announced that British and Indian troops participating in the occupation of Japan will be titled “British and Indian troops in Japan. Their flag is the Union Jack. Their badge, designed and painted by members of the force, is the Union Jack superimposed on a gold Britannia’s shield crossed with lances with blue pennants carrying the sign of the Allied Land Forces, South-west Asia, and the Star of India. Above the shield is a crusader’s helmet with red, white and blue plumes and, beneath, a scroll bearing the force’s name.
