HISTORIC YACHT FOR SALE The yacht which took Mr. Churchill on the first part of his voyage to meet President Roosevelt in 1941, tor the signing of the Atlantic Charter, is among others offered for sale by the Admiralty’s Director of Small Craft Disposal, states the Daily Telegraph of London. It is the 30ft cabin cruiser Fnvole, built by Thornycroft’s about 15 years ago, and formerly a private pleasure launch on the Thames. For most ol the war it has been based on Lyness, in the Orkneys. Mr. Churchill and his party embarked in the Frivole from the tiny fishing port of Scrabster and transhipped in Thurso Bay to a destroyer, which in turn transferred them to the batleship Prince of Wales, for the rest of the voyage. . Three kings have used the Frivole. King George VI went out in her when he inspected the Home Fleet annually in Scapa during the war. She has also carried King George of the Hellenes and King Peter of Yugoslavia. For all her history Frivole’s reserve price is only £475. The Admiralty have also for sale a large number of folding assault boats. They are £9 each.
