MORE RESIGNATIONS
TWO DUTCH OFFICIALS NO REASONS INTIMATED (9 a.m.) BATAVIA, Dec. 18. It is officially announced that MajorGeneral van Straten, head _of the Netherlands Indies civil administration, and Dr. Vanderolas, chief Dutch political adviser to G'eneral Christison, have resigned. Previously the resignations were announced of two other prominent civil servants—H. J. Spit, vice-president of the Council of the Indies and former director of«the Department of Justice, and G. F. de Bruyn Kps, a member of the Council of the Indies and a former director of finance.
No special reason is assigned for the resignations, but Dr. van Mook, in a recent speech, made mention of “this altered world, requiring new and youthful men.”
