BRITISH DECORATIONS
DISPATCH BY MAIL KING'S PERSONAL LETTER (9 a.m.) LONDON. Dec. 18 His Majesty since the outbreak oi war has personally presented more than 44,000 decorations, states the Press Association. There are still about 55.000 outstanding awards to be conferred. His Majesty cannot present the remaining decorations personally without interfering with State business. but as he regards each award as his own personal gift he has decided that, in future, the orders, decorations and medals shall be dispatched by post accompanied by a personal letter from himself.
Only such high orders as the Victoria Cross and George Cross will continue to be presented by Hi? Majesty.
