SUNDAY LABOUR MEETINGS
Sir...ln reply to “Disgusted,” whose letter appeared in last night s issue of your paper, I would like to point out that Mr. Baxter was not organising in the Gisborne electorate but in the Bay of Plenty electorate. Pie was requested to hold "a meeting in Gisborne and, as Sunday was tile. only night available to him, Mr. Baxter, at great inconvenience to himself, obliged .the Gisborne organisation by addressing a meeting on that night. “Disgusted” tries to hide behind a nom-de-plume, but I do not need three guesses to know who lie is and, judging by the tone of his letter, he is well acquainted with the inside workings of the Labour Party. [ would suggest that the Labour Party have a clean-up and expel some of these so-called supporters who rush to our opponents with their grievances instead of bringing. them up through the proper channels. The matter he referred to was decided by a conference where 470 delegates from all parts of New Zealand were present, and I fail to see any dictatorship about that. I am of the opinion that if the Labour Party does not get rid of such members’ as “Disgusted” it will certainly be committing suicide. LOYAL.
