DIAMOND THIEVES
THREW AWAY HAUL CHASE AT TEL-AVIV (9 a.m.) TEL AVIV, Dec. 17. Six young men threw away diamonds worth £20,000 after a daring daylight robbery to-day. They overcame the escort, seized diamonds belonging to several cutting and polishing firms, and fled in a car with the police in pursuit. The robbers fired shots ineffectively and escaped after dropping the bag of diamonds.
