INVERCARGILL BREACH
MAN-POWER DIRECTION
(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Dec. 18. For failing to comply with the dix-ec-tion of the district man-power officer to take up work as a nurse aid at Seacliff Mental Hospital, Coral Edna Drummond, nee McDougall, a former employee of the Invercargill Public Library, was fined £6 by Mr. R. C. Abernethy, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court.
The prosecution was the first in Southland for a breach of the industrial man-power emergency regulations.
It was stated during the hearing that the defendant was married on Saturday to a returned serviceman.
