PHRASE’S SIGNIFICANCE

LONDON. Dec 16.
The British Foreign Secretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, in a letter to the Mouse of Commons member, Mr. S. S. Silverman. gave an assurance that when h 3 used the phrase, “Jewish home’’ in • js statement on Palestine it was o-'iv n abbreviation of “national home for the Jewish people'’ as used in the Bat'our Declaration and in the preamble to the mandate for Palestine. Mr. Bevm added that the Government had no intention of evading its obligations under those instruments.
