£1,000,000 FACTORY
PENICILLIN PRODUCTION
PROJECTS IN BRITAIN
(10 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 17. A £1,000.000 penicillin factory, the largest in the world for the production of the drug, is being built at Speke, near Liverpool, says the Daily Telegraph. It is expected that the plant will be operating early in 1940. A second large factory for the production of penicillin is being erected at Barnard Castle, Yorkshire. The penicillin plants are expected to meet all foreseen requirements.
