SLEEPY FOX’S NEXT RACE MAGNIFICENT AS OPPONENT SYDNEY. Sept. 3. Sleepy Fox's hollow win in the Canterbury Stakeß on Saturday has scared most of his rivals out of next Saturday 4 ® Chelmsford Stakes, of nine furlongs, weight-for-age. The race now looks to be a match between Sleepy Fox and the champion three-year-old Magnificent. Because of the race conditions both will carry 71bs. over their weight-for-age weight. Sleepy Fox will carry 9.6 and Magnificent 7.8. The connections of Removal and Shannon said that their horses would not contest the Chelmsford Stakes because they thought Sleepy Fox would be too good at weight-for-age over nine furlongs. The New Zealander is the prospective favourite for the race.
