ATTEMPT AT SALVAGE
DRUGS ON LOST PLANE CRASHED AT DARWIN (9 a.m.) DARWIN, Sept. 4. Efforts are being made to salvage penicillin and other valuable medical stores from a mercy Catalina plane which crashed in Darwin Bay last Thursday while taking off for Singapore. Tire Catalina was one of nine mercy planes which left Sydney to bring relief to Australian prisoners of war in Malaya.
