Five nomir.Jitious were received lor three vacancies on the directorate of the Waiyoa Dairy Company 'and at Ihe annual meeting Mr. G. W. I’owdivll. chairman, was re-elect-ed and the new directors are Messrs 0. S. It. Steele and A. Clayton. A line gesture on the part of the young Rushy players who visited Wairoa was a visit to the Wairoa cemetery yesterday morning when "ft wreath was placed on the Cross of Kemembrance in honour of those who had played for the Ross Shield in earlier years and died whilst serving ill the forces. This action was not onlv appreciated by the relatives ol those who gave their lives in the recent war, but also the general public of Wairoa. The death occurred suddenly in Wairoa on Thursday of Mr. Harold William Holding, a membcr'of the stall’ of the New Zealand Railways Mr. Holding was the guard oil the railcar from Napier when at the Wcstshore crossing five men in a lorry lost their lives. He came to Wairoa a few months ago on transfer from Hastings and was very popular with his fellow-members of the stall and also the general public. He leaves a widow and two daughters and one son to mourn their loss. The interment will take place in Auckland. '
