SHARE IN SOVIET DRIVE SWIFT DESERT THRUST XU a.m.) - LONDON, Aug. 24. The army of the Mongolian Republic which declared war on Japan on August 10, participated in Marshal Malinovsky’s Transbaikal offensive, says the Associated Press correspondent in Moscow. A Russian war correspondent said that they drove swiftly across the roadless desert as much as 300 miles daily and used not only horses but a considerable quantity of motorised vehicles. The commander of the Japanese Army which defended Harbin said it was thought impossible for the Russians to pass through the difficult Taiga district. His army lost over 40,000 out of 65,000.
