Customs Increases.
Collections at the Gisborne nllice of the Customs Department for .lime totalled more than £IO.OOO including a .substantial amount Levied in special war taxation. Import dues returned £5840 0s 7d in ordinary revenue and £4lB 9s 4d in war taxation: as against £4401 Ls 5d and £O9l 7s for June, 1944. Beer excise payments totalled £2204 13s Od in ordinary revenue and £1784 2s Gd in war taxation an aggregate of £4012 IGs 2d against £2279 19s 7d and £1706 15s, an aggregate of £3980 14s 7d in June of last year. Sales tax payments yielded £IBB9 5s lid in ordinary revenue and £4OBO 17s Id m war taxation an aggregate oi £05(0 3s compared with £lOlO 3s (id and £402!) 0s ?d, an aggregate of £.)039 4s Id for the corresponding month ot last year,
